Top Mobile Gaming Companies Joining Forces

Bejeweled2Deluxe
Astraware and Handmark, two top mobile gaming companies, have announced this week that they’re joining up to command and conquer the mobile gaming arena. The two companies have been working together for a while on different projects. Astraware has picked up some of the work on the Tetris franchise that Handmark owns, and the two have been selling each other’s titles online for a while.

As part of the deal, Astraware is joining the Handmark family, and will be taking the opportunity to expand offerings, including their first Symbian S60 and UIQ games, coming in Q1, supposedly.

Astraware currently licenses the Bejeweled franchise from Popcap Games. That means we’ll FINALLY (hopefully) have Bejeweled on our S60 handsets. I’m a big fan of that.

  1. Hi Ricky

Thanks for posting the news of the deal with Handmark. I just wanted clarify that we don’t own the Bejeweled franchise, we create Bejeweled and Bejeweled 2 for Palm OS and Windows Mobile devices under license from PopCap Games.

    Kind regards
    Alison
