I was reading Nick Starr’s blog where he laments the idiot rules that T-mobile USA stand by. He wanted to swap from his Sidekick (with unlimited texting on that plan) to using his RAZR phone (also on T-mobile, but without an unlimited texting plan).
Obviously T-mobile aren’t allowing him to swap or carry over minutes. There’s rules you know.
I agree with Nick’s perspective: "I really hate certain things about T-mobile". Still, lucky chap to have unlimited texting, even on one phone. We’re all still paying GBP0.12 per text.
Side note: What is it with us Brits? Why are we stuffed when it comes to unlimited text messaging? You have to be a student in order for Vodafone to even countenance giving unlimited texting. Not even your £100 a month high spending T-mobile customer gets access to any sort of unlimited texting plan.
Things are going to change. They’re obviously making hay while the sun shines and while us stupid "oh, sorry" Brits continue to put up with it.
The Sidekick has a special plan that is $20USD/Month.
It includes unlimited data, text messages, im’s, etc.
I would check the T-Mobile site in the UK. Add a Sidekick to your order, then see what options they give you under the sidekick data plan.
I’d love to know if they offer it over there for the sidekick. It would seem to make sense that they do, since it is made for text messaging.
Thanks for the link to my site!
Nick — good to read your comment. As for T-mobile UK doing unlimited text messaging: Not a bit of it!!
I couldn’t even find the sidekick on their site just now although I know they do offer it. I could only find a reference to it below.
As you can see, there’s no such thing as unlimited text messaging in the UK with T-mobile or anyone else at the moment (unless you’re a student using vodafone!).
I hope this changes soon… but you know, we’re all stupid enough to keep paying 12 pence per text here it seems!
The sidekick link I found in google:
