No news here today

Well today I am entirely uninspired.

I wake up most mornings with a desire to check out what’s happening in the mobile industry. However today, well, I’ve been looking through the whole array of feeds, updates, bookmarks and update notices that I’ve built over a few years… and I found nothing of note.

Nothing inspiring.

I was in London today for meetings so I took a wander around Victoria station’s mobile phone shops.

Nada. I wonder how Orange is getting on with their ridiculous price plan names. Ferret, Parsnip, Armadillo and Carrot. Is that it? 😉 At a cursory glance the various deals looked ok. The Vodafone shop’s advertising hoarding was leading with their ‘Simple’ mobile. I’ve been wanting to buy that for a while for mum, but she’s too happy with her ultra cheapo Nokia 3000 series handset.

So, deftly uninspired.

I think this is possibly due to over exposure and over satisfaction. I was live blogging the whole weekend, you see. Snap. Upload…. Snap. Upload.

My three favourite things at the moment, from a mobile perspective: –

1) T-mobile unlimited data for £7.50/month
2) Nokia N90
3) ShoZu

Now and again if I saw something interesting or something I wanted to capture, I wouldn’t bother. Too much of a hassle to take a picture, create an email, write the email blah blah blah and send the pic to flickr. I had to be sat, bored out of my mind on a tube or waiting for some doughballs at Pizza Express, to take the time to sit and do that.

But today.. well, I snapped a pic of the office I was at. WOOOOSH. It’s on Flickr. I took a pic of Pret A Manger. I’m not sure why. Who cares? Within seconds that was on Flickr too, care of ShoZu.

So I think I am content. Ergo, the press release I just read about this dating company launching some vapourwear ‘mobile services’ simply doesn’t cut the mustard.
