Yahoo Go! for Windows Mobile. Arrrrrrse.

Link: MobileCrunch » Yahoo Announces ‘Go for Mobile” Application for Windows Mobile Devices.

Yahoo has just announced that starting today, the Yahoo! Go for Mobile application will be available to download and install on Windows Mobile devices.

Well I was one of the most enthusiastic supporters of Yahoo Go when it was originally launched, despite being unable to get it working. Finally, months later, I got it setup on the N90.

What a disappointment. I was really, really looking forward to a Blackberry-like wickedly good integrated service. It promises so much. I thought I could divert all my mail to my Yahoo account and be able to do the calendar and contacts syncing, … and possibly even walk out the house at weekends without my Blackberry as a result.

😐

Putting a a good looking ‘News’ icon there on the Yahoo Go frontpage and linking me, via my sodding wap browser, to Yahoo News doesn’t cut it. Not one jiffy.

Making it so that I can upload to Yahoo Photos but not Flickr: class A totally stupid.

Integrating my address book with the handset and duplicating everything….. arrrgh.

I was so disappointed. I’ll give it another look soon though. I’m still a big fan of the concept – it was the day to day usability that got me.
