Eckohgate: 11,500 Vodafone votes … go missing

Link: BBC NEWS | Entertainment | ITV’s Ice final hit by vote fault

About 11,500 text message votes for ITV1’s Dancing on Ice final were not counted because of a “technical problem” at the Vodafone network.

So this is not quite an Eckoh problem; more a Vodafone ‘technical issue’.

It’s entirely understandable, just a big arse. Technical issues happen. Just, you hope that these sort of systems are resillient. Or, at least, they weren’t resillient 5 years ago, so one expects that a good deal of effort has been expended by the networks to make sure that ‘technical problems’ don’t happen any more.

Ah well. Eckohgate is certainly drawing to a close now. I reckon that’s the last gasp of the screw-ups?
