  1. why would it make a difference?! Presumably each of these companies or individuals were approached for their suitability to give the respective talks. I’m assuming that where a company was approached they sent the most appropriate person for the task, which in this instance happened to be male.

    I abhor positive discrimination for the sake of it. grr
