After the post I published last night about Simon, we’ve had a lot of mails from readers wanting to see how he performed.
Instead of having to wait ’til Monday, here’s a quick 2.5 minutes with the man himself from last night. We’ll publish the full interview on Monday.
Nice guy. I hope in the full version there's a deeper investigation into the sh*tfight going on behind the scenes re CWM and how much ca£h the artists will actually receive…..FYI, that trumpeting noise was the elephant in the room…..
It's one thing to be able to remember the tariff and model of handset your firm is launching, quite another to understand and communicate just exactly how everyone in the chain makes a decent bit of cash at the end of it all.
And AFAIK, it's not download to the handset, it's to the PC then sideloaded as a WMA file. So if any other device you own doesn't play WMA (like, er, the ones made by a company named after a bit of fruit) then you will have to do geeky burn/rip/faff stuff to actually enjoy your purchase on any other device…
Should it be “Comes with music (PC and home broadband connection required, plus faffing about)” ?
(sorry, maybe too much sceptic sauce on the brekkie this am)
/m
Hmm we seem to have re-discovered the free as in “expression” vs free as in “beer”. CWM is sold(?) as free as in beer but you rlife belongs to the contract holder.
I think people are much happier with free as in expression where you pays your cash and is free to do what you wants.
In an age where businesses talk about owning a customer relationship, I don't think that is what anybody has in mind.
