Orange launches ‘Social Life’ one-stop-shop and Widget Player

Two things out of Orange UK today. One is ‘Social Life’ — a one-stop-shop system available from the Orange World portal, that brings Facebook, MySpace and Bebo together in one place. This means users can easily view and their updates via these three social networks through a single log-in. And you can also opt for text message updates to keep you informed throughout the day.

Nice.

The second piece of news is the Orange Widget Player:

[This is] a customisable interface which provides fast access to useful content and favourite applications from the Orange home screen on Orange Signature devices. Using Widget Player, customers can instantly access news, weather and sport updates along with applications such as search, Wikipedia, world clock and others from a widgets catalogue that will grow throughout 2009. Currently available on the Nokia 6303, Widget Player will be rolled out on further devices through the course of 2009.

I’ve no pictures to show you as yet and, with just one phone supported, there isn’t a massive audience for the Widget Player yet. But as Orange roll out their devices, do consider this platform for your services.
