I came across this unofficial Port To BlackBerry social service this afternoon and sent out a few automated requests via Twitter. All you need to do is select the app you’d like to see ported to BlackBerry and they’ll create and send a Tweet to that effect on your behalf. The concept being that this will catch the attention of the app developer and help convince them to start lining up support in readiness for the upcoming BlackBerry 10 launch.
It’s a rather smart idea, however it’s also worthwhile looking down the list of apps that the system is keen to encourage porting. Is your app there?
No?
Oh.
Then that’s a problem.
When I first saw the list I scrolled down to look for Touchnote. It wasn’t there. Ouch. Come on Touchnote… get in line!
[Note: Earlier I was under the impression this was an official RIM service — thanks to reader Kurt for pointing out that it’s an unofficial service! I’ve updated the text above to reflect that!]
This is a fan made site, not an official RIM page. It says so at the bottom of the site, along with a tool for suggestion apps to be added to the list.
Whoops! And there I was thinking it was official!
Also you can suggest applications to be added. I suggested about 3 or 4. Did you bother to look at the whole page? LOL The bottom says…
